1st Annual Pershing Rifles Drill

The EKU Department of Military Science and Leadership conducted the 1st Annual Pershing Rifles Drill, February 3, 2007, on EKU’s campus. The competition drew competitors from 20 different Junior ROTC programs from Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia.

EKU’s Army ROTC program was selected to receive an Engagement Skill Trainer 2000 (EST) for use by all ROTC units in Kentucky. The selection was based on the success of the EKU program and the outstanding support provided by CB&T and EKU.

The EKU Army ROTC Pershing Rifles Company R-1 is at it again. During the National Drill Conference this past March in Fort Monroe, VA, the Company entered four events – squad drill and inspection, individual exhibition, and two color guard teams.

2003 ROTC Ranger Challenge Team Wins Second Place

The Army ROTC 2003 Ranger Challenge team earned second place at the October annual competition at Fort Knox, Kentucky, missing a repeat of last year’s first place performance by 1/8th of a percentage point to Ohio State University.

ROTC Alumni Work to Create Campus Memorial

The newest chapter of EKU’s National Alumni Association, the ROTC Alumni, will create a permanent memorial on the EKU campus to honor alumni, students, faculty and staff whose deaths were related to military service.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at the Meditation Chapel in the Powell Plaza at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, the weekend before Veteran’s Day.
