Basic Camp 2020

Army ROTC Basic Camp (BC) is the premier leadership program of its kind in the United States. BC is a 31-day paid (approximately $1,000), training internship at Fort Knox, Kentucky during the summer, which provides an introduction to Army life and leadership training of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps. The aim of the internship is to motivate and qualify Cadets for entry into the Senior ROTC program.
Eligibility to attend the BC extends to students that have two years (4 semesters) of college remaining at the full-time rate (12 hours for undergraduate and 9 hours for graduate) after the completion of BC. Juniors may be eligible, but typical attendees of BC are second semester sophomores that have missed the first two years of the four-year ROTC program.
Graduate students are another great candidate for BC and will take part in the 300 and 400 level ROTC classes in conjunction with their graduate degree classes. For students that fall into these circumstances, BC completion is the first requirement and then progress through the MSL 301, 302, 401, and 402 classes.
The following is an example timeline for undergraduate and graduate students attending Basic Camp:
