Join the EKU Army ROTC Military Science and Leadership Department in welcoming the new Eastern Kentucky Professor of Military Science LTC Jim Plutt Jr. LTC Plutt is originally from Mentor, Ohio and commissioned through the ROTC program at Kent State University in 2007. He is a career Armor Officer with 16 years of experience serving in multiple leadership roles.

Construction has started on the new home for the EKU Veteran's Memorial Wall. This is the architect's rendering of what the final space will look like located off Lancaster at the end of the Carloftis Garden. A ribbon cutting/opening ceremony will be held in the Fall 2023.

2022 EKU Military Appreciation Weekend

The weekend of November 4th-5th EKU celebrated Military Appreciation Weekend. The EKU campus and community honored veterans along with the first ever 4 Star General to graduate from the EKU Army ROTC program, General James Rainey. At a meet and greet on Friday, November 4th, General Rainey recognized Cadet Mounts as well as Cadet McCoy for outstanding achievement in the ROTC program.

Continuing efforts to create a more pedestrian-friendly Campus Beautiful, Eastern Kentucky University has begun a renovation project in Powell Plaza. Known as the heart of Eastern's campus, the renovation creates more green space for outdoor activities and is scheduled for completion before students return for the fall 2022 semester.

The 2022 MSL Army ROTC Spring Commissioning Ceremony was held Thursday, May 12th in O'Donnell Auditorium, Whitlock Building. The speaker for the ceremony was Colonel Timothy R. Starke, Director of Operations, Kentucky Army National Guard Commander, 75th Troop Command.

2022 MSL Army ROTC Distinguished Alumni LTC Michael Dargavell

LTC Michael Dargavell

This years Military Science Distinguished Alumni Award with the College of Justice, Safety and Military Science was awarded to LTC Michael Dargavell. LTC Dargavell is the Professor of Military Science at the University of Louisville. He is an EKU alumni who graduated with a BA in Criminal Justice and was Commissioned at EKU in December 2004. His branch was Aviation.

EKU Army ROTC Staff Ride - Perryville

Staff Ride Perryville

MS3's and MS4's from EKU and UC participated in a staff ride to the Perryville battle site. As a group, the Cadets briefed each other as well as the ROTC Cadre on the battle and it's relevance to what they may face in the near future during their careers in the Army.
