In time-honored tradition, the Colonel's Battalion formally commissioned new officers at the end of the spring 2017 semester. Cadets were formally commissioned in a ceremony with family and friends on Thursday, May 11, in O'Donnell Hall of EKU's Whitlock Building.

Each summer, EKU ROTC Colonels Battalion sends cadets overseas for the Culture Understanding and Language Proficiency (CULP) program. For these ROTC cadets, the world became their classroom. This year, two cadets from Eastern participated in the CULP program.

It would be quite the feat to find an individual at Eastern Kentucky University more travelled than Lt. Col. Darell Robinson. The Chicago native has been stationed at more than a dozen locations, including Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.
