Whitney Named 2019 Colonel's Battalion Distinguished Alum

The EKU Colonel's Battalion was pleased to present the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award to LTC (R) Jack Whitney. The award was presented at the ROTC Award Ceremony during the 2019 spring semester.

LTC (R) Whitney was commissioned at Eastern Kentucky University in 1970. He was commander of Company R-1 of the local Pershing Rifles unit along with being the initial 2BN Commander of the Pershing Rifles during his last two years on campus. He is a member of the Military Officers Association of American and comes to campus each year to present newly commissioned 2LTs with their gold bar.

He donated to EKU ROTC his commanders sabre several years ago, and it remains in the EKU ROTC military memorabilia.
