It would be quite the feat to find an individual at Eastern Kentucky University more travelled than Lt. Col. Darell Robinson. The Chicago native has been stationed at more than a dozen locations, including Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.

Colonel's Battalion Commissions New 2LTs

Eastern Kentucky University Army ROTC commissioned 15 Second Lieutenants

Eastern Kentucky University Army ROTC commissioned 15 Second Lieutenants this past May. There were ten Active Duty Army, four National Guard, and one Army Reserve officers.

The newly commissioned Lieutenants will now take on the leadership role that they have been training for the last 2 to 4 years in EKU Army ROTC.

Congratulations to the commissioning class of May 12, 2016.

EKU Pershing Rifles to host Junior ROTC Competition

The annual Eastern Kentucky University Army Pershing Rifles ROTC Drill Meet will attract Junior ROTC units from throughout eastern Kentucky and eastern Tennessee to the Richmond campus on Saturday, Feb. 21.

After an opening ceremony at 8:30 a.m., competition begins at 9 a.m. in the Weaver Gymnasium.

EKU Colonel's Battalion hosts 2014 Cadet Stakes

On September 27, 2014, EKU Army ROTC Colonels Battalion hosted the Annual JROTC Cadet Stakes.

Thirty-nine teams from 25 different high schools competed for top honors. Events included a modified physical fitness test, litter carry, boat race, one-rope bridge, and mystery event.

At the end of the weekend, Clarkrange High School emerged at this year's winner.

On Sept. 11 people from all over the world stopped to remember almost 3,000 people, who died 13 years ago in a terrorist attack that changed the nation forever. Many members of the Eastern community remembered 9/11 by attending a memorial ceremony at the Center of the Arts and climbing 110 flights of stairs in Keene Hall that evening.
