Pershing Rifles Team Excels at National Championships

Eastern Kentucky University’s Company R-1 of the National Society of Pershing Rifles won several awards at the Pershing Rifle National Competition held recently in Jacksonville, Fla., including top honors in the Dual Armed Exhibition Drill featuring Dylan Baine, of Independence, and Adam Renn, Louisville.

EKU Army ROTC "Colonel's Battalion" held its 75th annual Military Ball last Friday, March 22 2013 in Keene Johnson. The entire Colonel's Battalion was in attendance, including Cadets and Cadre from the University of the Cumberlands and Union College, as well as members of the EKU ARMY ROTC Alumni association.

The EKU Army ROTC and EKU Vets will be holding Veteran’s Day events all weekend long on Eastern’s Campus Nov 10th and 2th in remembrance of our nations veterans. The events begin on Saturday, Nov. 10 and conclude Monday, Nov. 12.  The community and media are invited to come out and see these events honoring our nation’s veterans.

Veterans Week at Eastern Kentucky University will recognize and honor the sacrifices of American service men and women.

Several events are scheduled in the days surrounding Veterans Day, including a campus ceremony on Monday, Nov 12, the officially observed holiday. All events are open to the public.
